A Picture of Our Hearts

The message opened with a powerful object lesson—a puzzle with one piece missing. No matter how beautiful or complete the picture looked, every eye in the room was immediately drawn to that empty space. Why? Because as humans, we are naturally drawn to what’s missing.

Just like the puzzle, our lives often look put-together on the outside, but deep inside, there’s something not quite right. A piece that doesn’t fit. A space that remains unfilled.

And that missing piece? It’s Jesus.

What Are You Trying to Fill the Void With?

We often try to fill the God-shaped void in our hearts with things like:

  • Relationships
  • Money
  • Success
  • Entertainment
  • Busyness
  • Addictions

But no matter how many pieces we force into that space, nothing fits—because we weren’t made to be whole without Christ.

“Without Jesus, life is incomplete.”

Even millionaires and celebrities who “have it all” sometimes find themselves empty, broken, or even hopeless. Why? Because the one essential piece is missing. That perfect, God-designed part is Christ alone.

Only Jesus Can Complete the Puzzle

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:11:

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

God designed us with a longing for eternity—an internal shape that only He can fill. Just like a master engineer creates a specific part that only fits one way, Jesus is the only one who fits perfectly into that space in your soul.

“Trying to live without Jesus is like forcing a square peg into a round hole—it doesn’t work, no matter how hard you try.”

The Power of Repentance and Return

Many of us know there’s something missing, but we ignore it. Or worse, we pretend everything is fine. But the Holy Spirit sees our hearts. He knows exactly what’s missing and invites us to let Jesus fill it.

This message challenged us to examine our lives:

  • Is peace missing?
  • Is your purpose unclear?
  • Do you feel a lack of love, joy, or hope?
  • Are you running on empty—spiritually dry?

Whatever it is, Jesus wants to fill that void.

The Samaritan Woman: A Story of Transformation

In John 4, Jesus met a woman at a well. She had five former husbands and was living with a man who wasn’t her husband. By the world’s standards, she was a mess. But Jesus didn’t condemn her. He loved her.

He offered her something no man ever could:

“Living water that brings eternal life.”

And her life was transformed. She ran back to her village, told everyone what Jesus had done, and became a witness to His power.

Likewise, our testimonies can lead others to Christ. When Jesus fills our empty space, we become walking proof of His grace.

Is Your Puzzle Complete?

At the end of the message, the speaker gave a heartfelt invitation:

“If you look at the box of your life and realize there’s still a missing piece, don’t sit still. Don’t settle for almost complete. Invite Jesus to be the One who completes you.”

The congregation was encouraged to come forward, to acknowledge the missing piece, and to let Jesus be the center of it all. Not as an add-on, but as the core.

“Make your missing piece so big and obvious that you’ll never lose it again.”

The Promise: He Will Finish What He Started

“God will complete the good work He began in you.”

(Philippians 1:6)

Whether you’re just beginning your faith journey or returning after drifting, Jesus is ready to finish what He started. Baptisms held that day were not just symbolic—they were declarations of hearts made whole, lives restored, and puzzles completed.

Final Thoughts: What’s Missing in Your Life?

Jesus isn’t just a nice addition—He is the missing piece.

Without Him, the picture doesn’t make sense.

With Him, everything comes together.

So ask yourself:

  • What’s missing in your puzzle?
  • Are you ready to stop guessing and let the Master Builder take over?

Lift your hands, open your heart, and say:

“Jesus, come into my life. Complete me.”

And He will.
