Pastor Hector Boucet:
A Servant Leader with a Heart for Souls
Pastor Hector Boucet is a devoted man of God, known for his deep love for the souls of his congregation and his unwavering faith in people. Together with his wife, Miriama Boucet, he serves as the pastor of The Gathering—a church established in January 2014 as the only fully English-speaking congregation on this side of the island of Puerto Rico.
Pastor Boucet’s journey of faith began after more than 50 years as a devout Catholic. In 2007, while attending a service at an Assembly of God church on the island of American Samoa—despite the entire service being conducted in Samoan—he experienced a profound encounter with the Holy Spirit that touched the deepest part of his heart and led him to the altar to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
He and Miriama were married in late 2006, and upon returning to Puerto Rico from Samoa, they began attending the Zion Assembly of God Church in Mayagüez. In January 2014, Pastor Boucet was invited to The Gathering, an English-speaking church, by a friend. His pastoral heart naturally drew him into caring for the spiritual well-being of the congregation.
In 2019, Pastor Hector and Miriama Boucet were anointed as Co-Pastors by Apostle David and Sheilyn Rusi. Two years later, in 2021, they were officially appointed as pastors of The Gathering.
Today, Pastor Boucet continues to follow God’s voice and guidance, embracing new projects and viewing them as fertile ground for sowing the restorative message of the Gospel. He is deeply committed to reaching and discipling as many English-speaking souls as possible, believing firmly that God desires all people to hear His Word and receive the opportunity for salvation. He also holds the conviction that within each person lies the potential to become a successful leader, empowered by God’s guidance and grace.
Pastor Hector Boucet is a man of God characterized by his great love for the souls of the congregation and faith in people. Together with his spouse Miriama Boucet they are the pastors of “The Gathering”. This church opened in January 2014, being the only fully English-speaking one on this side of the island of Puerto Rico.
Pastor Boucet, after being a firm Catholic for more than 50 years, received Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 2007, at the Assembly of God Church, located on the small island of American Samoa. During that service, even though the entire service was in the Samoan language, he was able to witness the touch of the Holy Spirit to the innermost part of his heart, leading him to the altar for this great feast. He decided to join his life with his spouse Miriama Boucet at the end of 2006. Once they return from Samoa to Puerto Rico and settle down, they decide to start attending the Assembly of God of Zion church in Mayagüez. In January 2014 he was invited to the English-speaking church The Gathering by a friend. His “pastoral” heart always led him to be dedicated to the care of the people in the congregation. In 2019 Pastor Boucet and his beloved spouse Miriama Boucet were anointed Co-Pastors by Apostle David and Sheilyn Rusi and it was in 2021 that they were appointed official pastors of The Gathering.
Today they continue to obey God’s voice, and to be guided by God’s will towards new projects, and seeing it as a fertile field to sow the restorative message of the Gospel. In his heart he has the firm conviction that his calling is to win and disciple as many English-speaking souls as possible. He recognizes that God desires all people to hear His word and have the opportunity to be saved. He also firmly believes that in each person there is a leader who can succeed in everything he or she undertakes with God’s guidance and help.
