Living the Resurrection

Living the Resurrection is more than an Easter Sunday celebration — it is a daily choice to step into the life CHRIST died and rose again to give you. That is the message Pastor Hector Boucet brought to The Gathering Church on April 19th, 2026.

Easter weekend passes — and by Monday, most of us go right back to “lo mismo.” The same worries. The same habits. The same closed doors. But what if the resurrection wasn’t just a Sunday celebration? What if it was a life you were meant to step into — every single day?
“The resurrection was not just a simple event to celebrate. It was a life to step into.”
What happens to all that Easter Sunday fire by Monday morning? We celebrated, we shouted “HE IS RISEN!” and then by Monday we were back to “lo mismo” — the same routine, the same habits, the same closed doors. That pattern is exactly what GOD wants to break. The angel at the empty tomb didn’t just announce a miracle. He corrected a mindset. “Why do you look for the living among the dead?” (Luke 24:5). That question wasn’t only for those women in the garden two thousand years ago. It is the question GOD is asking each of us right now.

Stop Looking for Life in Dead Places
Many of us are still dragging dead seasons into a living future. Old habits. Old offenses. Old wounds we refuse to let go of — not because they serve us, but because we’ve grown comfortable carrying them. Pastor Hector described it vividly: we hold onto these things the way you’d white-knuckle grip a steering wheel, driving down a road we already know leads nowhere good.
GOD is telling you: the battle is not yours to win through sheer willpower. It belongs to HIM. The moment you try to fight it alone is the moment the natural man takes over — and the natural man always fails.
“And if the SPIRIT of HIM who raised JESUS from the dead is living in you, HE who raised CHRIST from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of HIS SPIRIT who lives in you.”
Romans 8:11Read that slowly. The same SPIRIT that burst the tomb open on a Sunday morning lives inside of you. That is not a metaphor. That is a promise. And a promise that powerful demands that you stop treating your body like a graveyard for things GOD already declared dead. Living the resurrection means trusting that the same power that raised JESUS from the dead (Romans 8:11) is actively at work inside you right now.

From Locked Doors to Peace Beyond Understanding
The disciples didn’t exactly look like resurrection people after Easter. They were locked in a room — doors shut tight — paralyzed by fear. Sound familiar? Fear. Confusion. Hiding from the very life GOD is calling you into.
And then JESUS walked right through those walls and said four words: “Peace be with you.” (John 20:19). He didn’t wait for them to get it together. He didn’t wait until the room was unlocked. HE walked into the locked place.
“On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, JESUS came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you.'”
John 20:19You may be locked right now — by fear, by past wounds, by disappointment that’s been sitting in your chest for years. But JESUS is not standing outside waiting for you to fix yourself first. HE is already walking into every locked room in your life. The question is whether you will let HIM stay.
From Celebration to Transformation: Living the Resurrection Daily
This is the shift GOD is calling The Gathering toward: not just a people who celebrate that CHRIST is risen on Easter Sunday, but a people who are truly living the resurrection — on Monday, Tuesday, and every ordinary day in between.
There is a difference between knowing something and experiencing it. Between believing and living it. You can believe that GOD is good and still live like HE isn’t there. You can declare “HE IS RISEN” on Sunday and wake up Monday carrying everything you laid at the altar the day before.

Pastor Hector put it this way: GOD’s math doesn’t work like ours. You ask how much is three times two, and we say six. GOD says six billion. HIS multiplication table is beyond our calculating — but only if we give HIM something to multiply. Overtime with GOD always pays triple. The question is: are you willing to go into overtime?
What was broken can be restored. What felt finished is not finished with HIM. Let your yes be yes — no more “yes, but.” Today is the day to let go of whatever you keep reaching back for every time HE asks you to release it. Let HIM have it. All of it. And watch what a resurrected KING does in a surrendered life.
