Only six people out of the whole Bible Course had filled out their testimony worksheet. Pastor Rosa was not satisfied with that, and he was not going to let anyone leave without understanding why their story matters.

“There’s not a period in your story, there’s a comma. You’re still here. You’re still breathing.”

Pastor Angel Luis Rosa opened the Tuesday night Bible Course the way a good drill instructor opens a training exercise: with a story about the first time he was handed an M16 and nearly shot himself because no one had shown him how it worked. It took his sergeant walking him through it, hands-on, before he ever qualified for sniper school. His point landed immediately on the room: you do not learn by only listening to somebody talk, and in church, he said, we do that far too often.

That is why Pastor Angel Luis Rosa had handed out a two-page testimony worksheet weeks earlier, and why he was disappointed, though not surprised, that only six people in the room had actually filled it out. So he slowed everything down and walked the congregation, verse by verse, through why the moment you came to CHRIST, the moment HE found you, is not a footnote to your faith. It is a weapon.

Revelation 12:11

Pastor Angel Luis Rosa returned to Revelation 12:11, a verse he had taught the week before, because he wanted it to sink in a second time. Salvation gives you the power to defeat the enemy, he explained, but your words, the actual telling of what GOD has done, are what make the victory visible. “Your testimony becomes evidence of what GOD has done in your life,” he said. It is not your word alone, it is the word of GOD moving through your story.

The second reason a testimony matters, Pastor Angel Luis Rosa taught, is that it shifts the focus off the problem and onto the Provider. He pointed the congregation to Psalm 34:3 and reminded them that magnifying the LORD does not make HIM bigger, it makes the problem smaller in your own eyes. Whether it is a parking spot at Walmart, a check that came in on time, or a doctor’s report that came back clean, he said the discipline is the same: stop rehearsing what has not happened and start magnifying what GOD has already done.

Psalm 46:8

He was direct about the danger of what he called spiritual amnesia, forgetting the great dinners, the healings, and the provision GOD has already brought while fixating on today’s peanut butter and jelly. Pastor Angel Luis Rosa’s own life became the illustration: healed of stage-four hepatitis C, delivered from a cancer diagnosis doctors said would require a permanent colostomy bag, and provided a home and furniture by a grateful mother whose son he had led to CHRIST in a living room in Scottsdale, Arizona. None of it, he said, was a coincidence.

Closing the lesson, Pastor Angel Luis Rosa turned to 1 John 5:11 and explained that a testimony is not just the one moment you were saved, it is a prophetic proclamation that if GOD did it before, HE can do it again. He has watched that principle play out over four decades of ministry, from homeless men receiving donated Ping Golf polo shirts like they were walking into a country club, to a young man named Michael who prayed with him on his living room floor while his mother watched in shock from the balcony.

This is the reason The Power of Your Testimony was the whole point of the evening. Pastor Angel Luis Rosa is not asking the congregation to perform a testimony for an audience, he is asking them to put in writing what GOD has already done so that someone else, maybe someone watching on Facebook Live whose son or daughter is struggling right now, can hear it and believe HE will do it again for them too.
