Trading Hats: A Mother’s Day Reflection by Jessica Rosa

This Mother’s Day, we honored the many emotional “hats” women wear—caretaker, comforter, organizer, encourager, and so many more. During Sunday’s message, we were reminded that while these roles are meaningful, they can also carry heavy burdens: anxiety, stress, fear, and doubt.

Jessica invited us to reflect on these emotional weights and offered a powerful visual activity—writing down our “hats” of worry and stress, and exchanging them for peace through Scripture. Using verses like Deuteronomy 31:6, Proverbs 15:15, and John 14:27, we were reminded that God calls us to be strong and courageous, to find joy regardless of our circumstances, and to receive His peace—a peace the world cannot give.

The message ended with a call to action: give God your anxious thoughts, let go of the broken records playing in your mind, and choose to walk in the truth of His promises. This Mother’s Day, we didn’t just celebrate mothers—we encouraged one another to trade our burdens for the peace that only Christ can give.
