“When we are united as one, nothing can stop what GOD wants to do among us.”

Pastor Boucet opened with something simple but pointed: when the church gathers, it needs to come as a sponge, not a spectator. Every person who walks through the doors carries CHRIST’S light back out into their homes, their jobs, their conversations — and that light only shines as far as the unity behind it reaches. He shared how a stranger at a store, and a stranger at a radio station, both crossed his path in the same week — placed there, he believes, because HE was watching hearts that were willing to go out with a purpose.

That willingness, Pastor Boucet explained, is what GOD is looking for first — before the miracle, before the move, before the breakthrough. And the clearest instruction on how that willingness takes shape as a body of believers comes from Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

“I therefore, the prisoner of the LORD, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the SPIRIT in the bond of peace.”

Ephesians 4:1-3

Paul doesn’t merely suggest unity in Ephesians 4:1-6 — he urges it, strongly. Pastor Boucet pointed out that the word “beseech” means Paul is pleading, not proposing. Unity isn’t something believers pick up when it’s easy and set down when it’s not. It is part of the calling itself, as fixed and as constant as GOD’S own character. “The LORD is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow,” Pastor Boucet said. “He doesn’t change. Do you see the way we change?”

Pastor Boucet illustrated this with a memory from his own experience serving on a federal jury, where twelve people had to reach one verdict together. He recalled being one of only two who disagreed with the majority, and having to speak up — with patience, with love, and without judging a man based on how he looked. “Unity is proven when it is not easy,” he said. It is easy to stay united when everyone already agrees. The real test comes when someone in the church has to be corrected, redirected, or simply heard — respectfully, with love — before a small disagreement is allowed to grow into division.

He compared the enemy’s tactic to a mousetrap: patient, persistent, always changing the bait — a little gossip here, a little offense there — until someone gets caught. “Everything starts so stupidly small,” he said. But the enemy has no control over a believer who stays close to GOD and refuses to let a small offense sit unaddressed. Left unspoken, that same small thing becomes the crack the enemy has been waiting for.

The Gathering is a congregation of different languages, different countries, and different cultures gathered under one roof — and Pastor Boucet named that directly as one of the church’s greatest strengths, not a limitation. He told the story of twelve Puerto Ricans standing out among twenty thousand people in a stadium, proud, visible, unmistakably themselves. “When we are united as one, that makes a huge difference,” he said. Being united in CHRIST doesn’t erase where someone comes from — it puts HIM at the center of it, and that center is what holds everyone together despite every difference in language, culture, or personality.

Pastor Boucet closed with a challenge for the four days between Tuesday and Sunday: pray over three people you don’t know. Not a raised-hand production — just a short prayer from the heart, offered to a stranger in a store or a mall who is more ready to receive it than anyone expects. He is convinced that when believers move in that kind of intentional obedience, and do it united, the LORD moves in ways no one saw coming.
