Knowing Your Target

This past Sunday, Rosa brought a powerful word titled “Knowing Your Target,” encouraging us to become warriors in the spirit—strategic, focused, and fully aware of who we are and what we’re fighting for.

Rosa opened by acknowledging the weight and responsibility of bringing the Word, praying that she would speak boldly and truthfully as a messenger of the gospel. She began by asking an essential question: “Do you know your target?” If not, how will you know where to aim?

Every Believer Has a Target on Their Back

Rosa reminded us that the enemy is cunning, subtle, and relentless. He doesn’t waste time trying to get you to worship him—he simply wants to distract you from worshiping God. His tactics are designed to fracture families, divide churches, normalize sin, and attack your identity. The devil’s goal? To keep you from walking in your authority.

She quoted a chilling strategy that someone imagined the enemy would use:

“I won’t waste time getting you to worship me. I’ll make you too busy to worship God. I’ll keep you so distracted you won’t have time to pray or read your Bible. I’ll fracture your family, stir up offense in your church, and confuse your identity—because if I can keep you fighting each other, you won’t fight me.”

Identity Precedes Victory

Before you can fight, you must know who you are. Rosa read from 1 Peter 2:9:

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession…”

Many of us feel set apart, even from childhood—but we mistake our struggles for rejection rather than preparation. Rosa encouraged us: “You weren’t being punished; you were being forged.” Your hardships were God’s way of strengthening you for battle.

Spiritual Weapons Require Spiritual Training

Using a bow and arrow as a vivid visual aid, Rosa illustrated the importance of spiritual readiness. The bow represents truth and conviction—the firm grip of your identity and purpose in Christ. The arrows are your prayers: targeted, intentional, and powerful. But to release them, you need both hands—mind and heart fully engaged.

“When you aim your arrow, you look up. That means your focus is on heaven. That’s your target.”

She also emphasized that our spiritual enemies are not of this world (Ephesians 6:12), and our strongest battles are fought on our knees. Rosa challenged the church to go beyond just defending themselves with armor—it’s time to learn how to attack. Call out strongholds. Name the spirits you’re rebuking. Fast. Pray. Declare. Aim.

Your Testimony is Your Honor

“Your honor is your testimony,” Rosa declared. “Live a life of prayer, fasting, sanctification, and the Word. Be aware of your words, your actions, and your surroundings. The enemy will come for you—but if you become a menace to hell, you’ll be the one they fear.”

She told the story of her personal battle—of standing in the gap for her daughters, praying, crying, and witnessing Jesus meet her with peace and protection. Her testimony is one of spiritual warfare, divine vision, and breakthrough.

Arrows That Reach the Throne

Drawing from the story of Daniel (Daniel 10), Rosa explained how spiritual interference can delay God’s answers, but persistent prayer and collective fasting make a difference. Your prayers—your spiritual arrows—pierce through the heavens and hit the target. Don’t go it alone. Ask others to pray with you. Every arrow counts.

Equipped for Battle

Rosa closed with a call to action:

  • Fast: One day, three days, twenty-one, or even forty.
  • Pray: Daily, intentionally, powerfully.
  • Arm yourself: With the full armor of God—every day.
  • Aim: Be intentional in spiritual warfare. Know your targets.

“Don’t just be protected. Be effective. Be offensive. Know your weapons. Know your authority. Know your target.”
