The Promise Is in the Process
Citizens of HEAVEN · Living on Earth
“If you were to choose your citizenship today, would you pick a place of constant comfort — or a place where the process of growth matters more than the destination?”
We often want the “dessert” of the Christian life — the miracles, the blessings, and the immediate answers. But the reality of our identity as citizens of HEAVEN is that the promise is in the process.
“For it has been granted to you on behalf of CHRIST not only to believe in HIM, but also to suffer for HIM.”
Philippians 1:29
The Purpose of the Process
We often ask, “Why am I here?” The truth is that GOD has a divine purpose for your life that goes beyond your current circumstances. Just as Paul wrote from a literal dungeon — a dark, foul-smelling cave — he didn’t focus on the condition of his jail. Instead, he focused on the internal joy that comes from knowing GOD is in control.
“For it has been granted to you on behalf of CHRIST not only to believe in HIM, but also to suffer for HIM.”
Philippians 1:29
Finding Strength in the Struggle
Whether you are facing physical pain or the deep weight of emotional suffering — like a parent grieving a child or fighting for a son’s sobriety — GOD’s grace is sufficient. We don’t have to be “holy people” who never struggle; we are all still learning to trust HIM in the midst of the fire.
“GOD is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1
When the bottom drops out, we don’t look for an exit; we look for the throne of grace. We approach with confidence, knowing that the GOD of the universe can turn things around in an instant. This process of enduring through faith is what prepares us to impact the next generation. It’s not about Grandmama’s faith; it’s about you working out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
“GOD is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1
United for a Higher Vision
As citizens of HEAVEN, we aren’t just a social club. We are called to be a united core, moving together toward a single vision: winning souls for JESUS CHRIST. Unity isn’t just a nice idea; it is a requirement for a healthy congregation. When we stop gossiping and start supporting one another’s burdens, we reflect the heart of CHRIST to a world that is desperately looking for a reason to hope.
“Let us approach GOD’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16
